Meka Brunel

CEO, Gecina

A business leader in the real estate industry, Méka Brunel is an ETP engineer, an Executive MBA from HEC and FRICS. From 1996, she held various executive management positions with Simco, which later merged with Gecina. In 2006, she became CEO of Eurosic, before joining Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2009 as Executive Vice President Europe.  She has been a Director at Gecina since 2014 and was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer in January 2017. Actively engaged in community life and industry associations, particularly as a Director of Crédit Foncier de France, Honorary President of the HQE-France GBC association, a Director of FSIF and EPRA, Méka Brunel was appointed in October 2017 to chair the Métropole du Grand Paris (Grand Paris metropolitan authority) development board. She was also named Professional of the Year in the 2013 and 2018 Pierres d’Or awards.

Christoph Schumacher

Head of Global Real Estate, Credit Suisse Asset Management (Switzerland) Ltd.

Christoph Schumacher has been Head of Global Real Estate at Credit Suisse Asset Management (Switzerland) Ltd. since June 1, 2017. Prior to that, he held managerial positions at a number of other real estate investment firms, most recently as CEO of Union Investment Institutional Property GmbH in Germany. Overall, he has more than 25 years of experience in real estate, finance, legal, and consulting. Christoph Schumacher studied law in Freiburg, Geneva, and Bonn, and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Münster, Institute for International Business Law.

Jay Kwan

Managing Director, QuadReal

Jay Kwan joined QuadReal as Managing Director, Europe in February 2018. His focus is on building the international portfolio, with an emphasis on investing in Global Cities in the U.K. and Europe. Jay was formerly a Managing Director at TPG Real Estate, the real estate investment group of private equity firm TPG, specifically focused on European investments. Prior to joining TPG in 2016, Jay was a Partner at Grove International Partners, an independent real estate private equity firm spun out from Soros Private Funds Management, where he spent 13 years investing in three continents across all asset classes at both the corporate and asset level. Jay began his career at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners in New York in 2001.
Jay graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University in New York. Jay is committed to excellence in investing and prudent stewardship of the portfolio with a long-term focus.

Joanne McNamara

Head of Investments - Europe, Oxford Properties

Joanne currently leads Oxford’s European investment team and function and is responsible for developing and implementing Oxford’s European investment strategy of building AUM to over C$15bn by 2022 with a focus on prime office, high street retail, residential and logistic assets in London, Paris and Germany. Joanne oversees all transaction activity in Europe, as well as managing a number of Oxford’s relationships with a range of 3rd party capital partners across the European business. Joanne is also responsible for implementing the European credit strategy, working closely with Oxford’s team in the US. Joanne has over 12 years’ experience working on direct asset, corporate acquisitions and financings across multi sectors, jurisdictions and countries – UK, France and Germany – within the real estate market, including completing in excess of £7bn of transactions for Oxford, with notable transactions such as the acquisition of 130-137 New Bond Street and 50 New Bond Street with joint venture partners, Richemont. Prior to joining Oxford, Joanne worked at Hammerson (UK REIT) in the development and new business team. She started her career in the corporate finance team at DTZ where she became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Joanne holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Cardiff University and an MSc in International Real Estate from the Oxford Brookes University.
