Conferences

At MIPIM UK Summit, learn about national industry trends and connect with peers through conferences, keynotes and networking events.

Emerging from uncertainty to prosperity ?

The MIPIM UK Summit will focus on global, economic, societal and technological issues impacting the real estate industry. The event will explore the ever expanding needs and interests of the built environment, which plays an ever more critical part in the success of our cities, places and people.

New technology and changing behaviours are transforming the nature of real estate as an investment, and as a product or service we use as consumers. High energy prices, climate change and government regulation are already pushing sustainability up the real estate agenda. There is a need for investors and owners to improve asset performance and manage a broader range of risks.

With a new structure, content, speakers and venue, the MIPIM UK Summit agenda gives a unique opportunity to showcase the future of the built environment in the UK that will enable economic growth, sustainable performance and community cohesion.

Join us at the MIPIM UK Summit 2019 to understand the future opportunities for UK real estate.

Roger Madelin is Head of the 53-acre Canada Water Development at British Land and is a member of the Executive Committee. He joined British Land in February 2016 after 29 years at Argent. As the Development Director at Argent from 1988 he was responsible for the delivering all of Argent’s projects including Brindleyplace in Birmingham, Thames Valley Park in Reading and major office projects in central London and the City. The company was a FTSE 250 emerging major from 1993 until it left the stock market in 1997. Roger then became CEO of the once again private development business which was funded by British Telecom Pension Fund and the senior management team. Over the next decade he expanded Argent’s development activities with major projects in Manchester and further projects in Reading, Birmingham and the City of London. In 2000 he led the company to be selected and then to take forward the development of the 56 acres of ‘railway lands’ between and to the north of King’s Cross and St Pancras Stations. In their words...

Why are you looking forward to attending the re-energized MIPIM UK Summit this year?

"Events such as MIPIM UK enable real estate professionals to debate and discuss the opportunities, issues and challenges we face, and to share insight and opinion which is particularly valuable in less certain times like these and helps inform our decision making. The newly formatted conference, in a more convenient location will no doubt provide an even more dynamic environment for this to happen."

Joanne McNamara

Vice President Investments and Interim European Finance Director, Oxford Properties Group

“I am hugely looking forward to attending the re-energized MIPIM UK Summit this year and speaking to potential investors.  The Grimsey Review will help localities find new uses for redundant retail property assets, helpfully located next to existing amenities.  Clever investors would do well to look at these emerging opportunities.  As ever, the early adopters will get the competitive advantage."

Bill Grimsey

Retailer, Bill Grimsey Retailer

"We have just done a £90 million deal with Sekisui House and Homes England, investing in the UK modular market through our Urban Splash House business. Collectively, we are looking forward to meeting and partnering with landowners and local authorities to deliver thousands of new, modern homes."

Tom Bloxham MBE

Chairman, Urban Splash

“The power of networking with senior leaders in the real estate industry cannot be underestimated. Our mission at ULI is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Participating in events such as MIPIM UK helps us to foster collaboration within and beyond ULI’s membership to achieve sustainable development goals.”

Lisette van Doorn

CEO, ULI Europe

"I’m looking forward to attending MIPIM UK this year to discuss with industry professionals how major regeneration projects, like Old Oak and Park Royal, can best be delivered to create homes, jobs and opportunities that connect people with place."

Liz Peace CBE

Founder, Real Estate Balance and Chair, Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation

"UK real estate is a fantastic sector to work in and the MIPIM UK Summit is a great opportunity to showcase and celebrate everything that is good about UK real estate, and to debate the challenges and opportunities facing the sector."

Melanie Leech CBE

Chief Executive, British Property Federation
